You might say that it all began with a crazy idea… but nonetheless, we took the plunge and decided to build a brewhouse from scratch. There’s Anna the barrister who’d been dreaming of starting a family business, Martijn the freshly trained brewer from Holland, and Tomáš the grandfather. Together they’ve created a brewhouse with an inn, where everyone can feel free and easy, grown-ups and children alike.
Anna began training as a cook while Martijn ventured to recreate an old Dutch recipe for spice-infused beer. Grandfather Gerard along with good friend Eva joined the team and finally, the Švihov Family Brewhouse was born. We built it for those who want to experience the true taste of the Czech countryside – whether it be our beer, wholesome food or the locally sourced fruit and vegetables.
Come and enjoy our hospitality and free-range garden with your friends and family.
The brewhouse is planned to open in late summer.

Note for English speakers: pronounce Švihov as [shvi-hoff]
A cosy hideaway for both beer geeks and beer novices. Come chill out after a tough bike ride or warm up by the fire on a rainy day. Pop in for a chat about our beer and you might even learn how Martijn recreated the 19th-century formula for Švihadlo, our flagship ale. Even if you’re not a beer lover, we won’t leave you high and dry. Hop-flavoured lemonade, anyone?
Our house specialities matched with Švihov beers are served in the club. Have you ever tasted Bitterballen, or Dutch meatballs?
Our beer club can comfortably fit twenty people, so bring your friends along!
Whether it be a birthday bash, a wedding anniversary or just a party in celebration of craft beer, we will put every effort into making your event a special one. For larger functions we offer our converted barn, while smaller groups will enjoy our beer club. You can also celebrate al fresco in our yard. Let your children have fun in the garden or playground while you relax and have a good time.
Our venue is also suitable for seminars and work meetings. Our converted barn comfortably fits up to 40 people and can be set up for the purpose of a presentation or a small banquet. We’ll create a special menu for you, suggest tips for outings in the area, arrange a horseback ride or bike rental.
We are happy to hear about your plans and wishes at firstname.lastname@example.org.

BED & BREAKFAST
Don’t rush home… come enjoy our beer instead! Our inn features two standard rooms and four suites. Enjoy a lazy Sunday in bed or hit the trail in the early morning. We’ll fix you breakfast in bed or a snack for the road. Just give us a head’s up on what you’d like.
All our rooms are designed for families with small children. You’ll find everything you’re used to at home – a cot, an electric kettle, a training-potty. There’s also an indoor and outdoor playground for the little ones. You’ll return home refreshed, well rested and with your belly full.
We are happy to put you up in the hay barn, but for greater comfort we suggest booking a room.
Take our goodies home with you! Our shop offers locally-sourced fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Of course, a selection of our beers is available as well as mushrooms grown by grandfather Gerard, craft ciders, syrups, baked goods, honey, and choice meats from our local butcher.
Taste our freshly baked stroopwafel, a speciality you won’t find elsewhere. Our Dutch waffles can be easily packed in your bike panniers, if you can resist devouring them all at once!
There is always something happening. Whether it’s an afternoon BBQ held every day from 4 p.m., sampling our specials or a traditional funfair with vintage swinging boats…
Visit our local market on your next weekend trip and meet the producers of honey and other sweets, flower growers and farmers. See how fresh trdelnik is made and bring home a basket full of goodness.
